Magdeburg attacker: Taleb A. threatened violence as early as 2013

The Ministry of Justice in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania has provided further details about the past investigations against the suspected perpetrator of the fatal attack in Magdeburg. Afterwards, Taleb A., dissatisfied with what he saw as the lengthy processing of his application for admission to the specialist examination, threatened in a telephone call to an employee of the medical association on April 16, 2013 that something would happen that would attract international attention.

“He asked the employee if she had seen the pictures from Boston. Something like that would happen here too,” said the ministry about the current status of the investigation. A day earlier, on April 15, 2013, three people were killed and 260 injured in the attack on the Boston Marathon.

According to the information, the Rostock public prosecutor’s office then applied to the Rostock district court on April 18, 2013 for a search warrant for Taleb A.’s apartment in Stralsund, which was also issued. However, no weapons, other dangerous objects or materials for making bombs were found.

The remaining files also provided evidence of a further criminal investigation by the public prosecutor’s office. Taleb A. then wrote a letter to the Attorney General on August 31, 2015 and stated, among other things: “From a purely postmodern, philosophical perspective, you are dirty bacteria that should soon be destroyed in order to protect the German people from your danger. My moral But the obligation is to destroy Articles 92 and 97 Paragraph 1 of the Basic Law. I’m prepared to pay for this with my whole life. But it won’t take long talk.”

The articles of the Basic Law mentioned refer to the jurisprudence in Germany and the position of judges. The Ministry of Justice in Schwerin reported that the result of the process could no longer be determined due to the deleted files.
