Green youth leader wants debate about domestic violence
“No one should be hurt on New Year’s Eve. I apologize for my tweet. I shouldn’t have phrased it like that,” she explained on X in the afternoon. In another posting, she referred to the violence that many women experience from partners or ex-partners: “It would be good to talk about systematic solutions to domestic violence instead of hurt male egos.”
Deleted my tweet. It would be good to talk about systematic solutions to domestic violence instead of hurt men’s egos.
Every fourth woman becomes a victim of her (ex) partner. I hope you join in the discussion with such passion.

The post was probably triggered by the annual reports of serious hand injuries in connection with firecracker accidents on New Year’s Eve. The victims are often male. Careless use of fireworks also cost at least five men their lives on New Year’s Eve in Germany. Several other people were injured, some of them life-threatening. Additionally, there have been some reports of serious fireworks-related injuries. In Hanover and Munich, for example, two 14-year-olds lost part of a hand in firecracker accidents, according to the police.
