Mishap in the election campaign or guerrilla marketing? The police cancel a projection of the Green Party candidate for chancellor onto the Munich Triumphal Arch. The CSU speaks of “megalomania”.
A projection with a portrait of the Green Party candidate for chancellor Robert Habeck on Munich’s Victory Gate causes excitement. The police stopped the election advertising at the building because those responsible on site could not provide permission from the city, as a spokeswoman for the police headquarters said.
According to media reports, the company stated that it was working on behalf of the Greens. They had previously announced a campaign in which they would project Habeck on facades in various major German cities with the slogan “Alliance Chancellor.” The Munich district administration department was initially unable to say whether approval had been given.

On the projection on Friday evening, Habeck could be seen in front of a green background, underneath the slogans “Alliance Chancellor. One person. One word.” The federal election will take place on February 23rd. In surveys, the Greens were recently at 13 to 14 percent.
