Alice Weidel confirms scandal statement: “Hitler was a leftist”
During her talk with Elon Musk, AfD co-leader Alice Weidel caused outrage with a statement about Adolf Hitler. Now she confirms her description.
AfD leader Alice Weidel rejects the suspicion that her talk with US billionaire Elon Musk on his Platform X could represent a monetary advantage for her party and thus possibly constitute illegal party financing.
It was a dialogue on a platform, there is nothing wrong with two people talking, Weidel said in an interview with RTL and ntv that evening.
“A leftist”: Alice Weidel confirms Hitler’s statement
In a conversation with Musk, Weidel described the National Socialist Adolf Hitler as a “communist.” In the RTL/ntv interview she defended her view. “I am an economist and it is completely clear to us that Adolf Hitler was a leftist,” said Weidel. She doesn’t deviate from that.
In an interview with Musk, she referred to the nationalization of companies and high taxes under Hitler and explained: “And the greatest success after this terrible era in our history was to describe Adolf Hitler as right-wing and conservative.”
