Melania Trump wants to live mostly in the White House – away from New York

The future first lady Melania Trump has indicated that she wants to live primarily in the White House in Washington DC in the future. “I will be in the White House,” the 54-year-old told Fox TV on Monday. “If I have to be in New York, I’ll be in New York, if I have to be in Palm Beach, I’ll be in Palm Beach,” she continued.

“But my first priority will be to be a mother, to be a first lady and to be a wife.” Her son with her husband Donald Trump, Barron, is now attending college in New York and will come over to visit. During Trump’s first term as US President (2017-2021), Melania caused irritation because she initially did not move with him to the address 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, but instead stayed in New York.

During last year’s election campaign, Melania Trump did not appear often at her husband’s side. She also stayed away from the public when he was tried in New York for paying hush money to a former porn actress. The Trump couple spends a lot of time in their apartment in Trump Tower in Manhattan and in the luxury residence Mar-a-Lago in Florida.

For her second term as first lady, Melania Trump plans to revive her “Be Best” campaign to support children. A film about her is also set to come out after she publishes her memoirs titled “Melania” in October.

“Maybe some people just see me as the president’s wife, but I stand on my own two feet, I’m independent,” said Melania Trump. She also “doesn’t always agree with what my husband says or does.” She gives him her advice, “and sometimes he listens to it, sometimes he doesn’t, and that’s okay.”

Melania met Donald Trump in New York in 1998. At this point, Melania Knauss, who was born in Slovenia in 1970, had already been successful as a model in the USA for several years. They married in 2005 and their son Barron was born a year later.
