A reckoning with Russia – that was the core of the speech that the Iranian general gave at the turn of the year. The regime in Tehran had long viewed Putin’s empire as its most important ally. Russia owed it its most powerful S-300 air defense systems. Iran retaliated against Moscow with missiles and drones and their blueprints for the war in Ukraine.
