Loud explosions wake the residents of the Ukrainian capital Kiev from their sleep. The Russian army is apparently attacking the city of three million people with ballistic missiles.
According to the military administration, at least four people were killed in the Ukrainian capital Kiev as a result of a Russian rocket attack. Three others were therefore injured. The Lukyanivska metro station near the city center had to be closed due to damage caused by the attack. Unlike previous attacks on Kiev, this time there was no advance warning: the air alarm was only triggered after several explosions. According to official information, ballistic missiles were used in the attack.
The damaged subway station is located right next to an arms factory that has been the target of Russian missile attacks on several occasions. According to information, rocket debris also fell in other parts of the city. Images on social media showed damaged cars and flooding due to a burst water pipe right at the subway station. In parts of the metropolis with three million inhabitants, the water supply failed, at least for a short time.
