The man is driving in a car and shoots out the window into the landscape for no apparent reason. It is Croatia’s deputy prime minister. Because this has now become known, he has to take his hat off.
Croatia’s deputy prime minister Josip Dabro has resigned after a compromising video became public. It shows the politician shooting a pistol through the window of a moving car, apparently for fun. Dabro announced his resignation on Facebook without naming the incident. He wrote that he was “aware that the circumstances in which I find myself place an additional burden on both the government and my party.” He doesn’t want his “personal situation” to distract from the “main priorities of the government.”
The video shows Dabro, who was also Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, in the passenger seat while driving on a country road at night. During this journey he fires several shots with his pistol through the open window into the dark landscape. He laughs at that.
Dabro belongs to the nationalist party Homeland Movement (Domovinski Pokret – DP), which co-governs Zagreb. The incident is putting additional strain on the reputation of Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic’s bourgeois government, which suffered a bitter defeat in the recent presidential election. Dragan Primorac from Plenkovic’s bourgeois HDZ party only received 25 percent of the vote and was therefore vastly inferior to his opponent Zoran Milanovic (75 percent).
