Inauguration
Trump’s icy spectacle of superlatives
Copy the current link
It’s a day of pomp to Donald Trump’s taste. The whole world is watching his inauguration. Only the weather thwarts his plans.
It can be assumed that Trump had already imagined it. How he steps out of the Capitol, places his right hand on the Bible, and takes the presidential oath for the second time.
The weather, however, had other plans – a large part of the ceremony was moved indoors, it was simply too cold. For the first time since Ronald Reagan’s second inauguration in 1985. The man of the hour probably won’t like that at all.
