Vaccine scandal doctor donates record sum to AfD
The AfD received its largest party donation to date in the first few weeks of the year. A northern German doctor and entrepreneur paid her 1.5 million euros.
The AfD received a major donation of 1.5 million euros. This emerges from the Bundestag’s publication. Parliament names the Lübeck doctor and entrepreneur Winfried Stöcker as the donor. The “Spiegel” previously reported. According to information from the magazine, this is the largest single donation the party has received to date. As the Bundestag overview shows, it is also the highest amount of donations that a party has received so far in the first few weeks of this year.
Stöcker became known during the corona pandemic because he organized an illegal vaccination campaign at Lübeck Airport in November 2021, in which people were vaccinated with an active ingredient he had developed but was not approved. He was therefore sentenced to pay a fine of 250,000 euros. He appealed against this.
AfD 2024 without major donations
Last year, the AfD was the only party that did not receive any major donations. The BSW recorded by far the largest individual donation in 2024 (4.09 million euros). Large donations are amounts of 35,000 euros or more. The parties must immediately report such amounts to the President of the Bundestag, who will then publish this information promptly.
