Palestinians displaced in the south of the Gaza Strip should soon be allowed to make their way back to the north. Private security companies should check the vehicles for weapons.

According to media reports, private security forces from the United States are to be used in the Gaza Strip. They are intended to control vehicles from displaced Palestinians who return to their original residential places in the destroyed north from the south of the coastal strip, as the “New York Times” reported to several government officials. He was part of the ceasefire agreement between Israel and Islamist Hamas conveyed by the USA, Egypt and Qatar.

According to the reports, the security companies should check the Netzarim corridor, which divides the Gaza Strip south of Gaza City in half. He was previously controlled by Israeli soldiers for months to prevent Palestinians from returning to the evacuated areas in the north.

In the agreement that came into force on Sunday, it was agreed that the return for Palestinians displaced to the south should be possible on the seventh day after the ceasefire came into force. “Axios” reported that as part of the negotiations, Israel had asked for the returnees to be checked, which Hamas rejected.

As a compromise, it was agreed that vehicles should only drive north on a street and the checkpoint would be operated by independent actors. According to “Axios” information, three security companies are involved in the controls, two from the USA and one other from Egypt. People who go north on foot should not be controlled, the “New York Times” reported.
