Five years ago there were the first confirmed corona infections in Germany. The processing is not done for Health Minister Lauterbach.
Federal Minister of Health Karl Lauterbach calls for a processing of Corona policy after the federal election. The SPD politician described it as a mistake on Deutschlandfunk that this was not done. The traffic light government should have been dealing with. It remains urgently necessary and must take place immediately after the formation of the government. This is also necessary in order to achieve willingness to accept measures in the event of a new pandemic.
Lauterbach commented five years ago on the occasion of the first confirmed Corona infections in Germany.
Basically, the minister rated the careful government of the government as correct. “We clearly did more right.” Germany is also technically better prepared for a new pandemic today. The health authorities are better positioned and the digitization of the healthcare system progresses. There is a sewage monitoring and pandemic radar. Vaccines could be developed faster.
Lauterbach on the government mistakes
Lauterbach admitted the intensive and long closure of the schools as a mistake. One should have been a little more generous here and a little stricter with the companies.
Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier also requested that Corona politics work out after the Bundestag election-if necessary, he wants to initiate it himself. “If a new government and a new Bundestag shouldn’t actually devote itself to this task, I will do so,” said the head of state to the magazine “Stern”. “Refurbishment would create the chance to regain people who have lost their trust in democracy or at least doubt them.”
