Evpatoria Mayor Roman Tikhonchuk wrote a letter of resignation of his own free will. This was announced on Tuesday, February 1, by the head of the Crimea, Sergei Aksyonov.
“Held a meeting with the head of the administration of Yevpatoriya Roman Georgievich Tikhonchuk. Based on the results of the assessment of his activities and the results of his work, he wrote a letter of resignation of his own free will, ”he wrote in his Telegram channel.
The work of the city administration continues as usual, the structure will remain unchanged, Aksyonov stressed.
He also added that the decision to appoint the acting head of the city administration will be made on February 2.
Tikhonchuk himself confirmed that he voluntarily decided to leave the post of head of the Yevpatoriya administration.
“Today, having weighed all the pros and cons and realizing that we need to move on, I decided to leave the post of head of the administration of the city of Evpatoria. At one time, making a difficult decision for myself to head the city administration, I realized what a big responsibility it is to my hometown and citizens, ”he wrote on his Instagram page.
In October 2021, Aksenov reprimanded Tikhonchuk and the mayor of Bakhchisaray Dmitry Skoblikov. Tikhonchuk was reprimanded for delaying the implementation of infrastructure projects, Skoblikov for poor cleaning of the city and the state of playgrounds.
Tikhonchuk was appointed head of the administration of Evpatoria on October 28, 2019 after Andrey Filonov was removed from this position.
