For the SPD it is an unprecedented taboo break: Will the Union enforce its requests for migration with AfD aid? The SPD wants to prevent this.
The SPD sharply attacks the Union in migration policy and wants to put counter -proposals on the table in the Bundestag. In the past few weeks, the CDU and CSU have blocked a security package with more powers for the authorities and a reform of the Federal Police Act, criticized General Secretary Matthias Miersch in Berlin. In addition, the European asylum reform to control migration in Germany should be implemented quickly. “Our suggestions – again – again – with all democratic factions,” says a board decision of the SPD.
Miersch excluded approval of the applications from the CDU and CSU. He also sees no basis for a compromise, since the current proposals from the Union violate the constitution and against European law.
If the CDU and CSU stay with their line to enforce the reforms with the help of the AfD in doubt, this is an “unprecedented taboo break in the post -war history of the Federal Republic of Germany”. “I can only say here who does the AfD, the Weidels, Höckes and Co. in his house will not get it out of this house,” warned Miersch. The SPD will try to prevent this in the Bundestag.
