The vote on a Union application in the Bundestag causes discussion. This could also have consequences for possible coalitions after the Bundestag election. The Greens Chancellor candidate expresses concerns.
Green Chancellor candidate Robert Habeck sees new hurdles for a possible coalition with the Union after the joint coordination of the Union and AfD for a sharper migration policy. “In any case, it has become more difficult,” said Habeck on the sidelines of the “Frauen100” event in Berlin when asked whether the Union was still coalition for the Greens. “The Union has to be a contractual fulfillment and word breaks are not part of it, but it is with the Union,” added Habeck.
On Wednesday, the CDU and CSU, together with the votes of the AfD and the FDP, passed an application to tighten migration policy and thus caused a lot of criticism. On Friday, the upcoming vote on the so -called influx limitation law could lead to a similar situation: AfD, FDP and BSW have signaled approval.
