Without representation in the Bundestag, a party is not a relevant factor, says BSW founder Sahra Wagenknecht. It could be scarce for them. In the election campaign, the BSW relies on a five-point plan.
BSW boss Sahra Wagenknecht ties her political fate to the move in her party into the next Bundestag. “The choice is of course also the decision about my political future,” said Wagenknecht from the German Press Agency. “If you are not in the Bundestag, you are no longer a relevant factor in German politics.” There is a massive interest to keep the BSW out of parliament. “But I am confident that we can do it,” said Wagenknecht.
The alliance Sahra Wagenknecht, founded a year ago, is still measured with 4 to 5.5 percent approval nationwide after a downward trend in recent surveys, i.e. close to the five percent hurdle. The BSW leadership submitted a five-point plan to reduce taxes, levies, rents and living expenses with the promise to relieve citizens of an average of 100 euros in the event of an election success. With this, she wants to set a different topic after the permanent debate on migration.
“Blockade in the mainstream media”
Wagenknecht, however, said: “Against the BSW there is a noticeable blockade in the mainstream media. The old parties are fighting us. We are uncomfortable and want changes. This is written down.”
Migration moves people because they experienced associated problems, said Wagenknecht. “But of course there are many other important topics that must finally be discussed in this election campaign.” The five-point plan bundles claims from the BSW election program.
In this way, the BSW wants to delete the additional contribution to the statutory health and long-term care insurance. According to BSW, this would relieve average earner by 45 euros. However, good earners would have to pay more, because the party is for a higher contribution ceiling. In the event of health, care and pension, the BSW wants citizens’ insurance, so everyone should deposit.
According to the claims, pensions up to 2,000 euros should be tax -free. Average earners should have 50 euros net more per month with corrections in the tax system. In return, “far above -average income and large assets would be burdened”.
Minimum wage and rental cover
The BSW wants to increase the minimum wage to 15 euros on July 1st. Rents are to be frozen in expensive regions by 2030. The real estate transfer tax should be eliminated when buying the first self -used property.
CO2 price and truck toll away
The BSW wants to abolish the CO2 price, the truck toll and VAT on staple. The goal is to make food and fill up cheaper. Subsidies for green electricity and the heating law are to be abolished as counter -financing. That should bring the state 35 billion euros. The exact costs of all claims are not named in the BSW plan.
Less network fee and cheap gas
According to the BSW plan, the power grids should be in the hands of the state. It should remove and maintain it from tax money to reduce network charges. At the same time, the BSW wants to import cheap gas, including from Russia.
