Donald Trump’s expansion plans apparently know no limits: after talking to Netanyahu, he wants to take over the Gaza Strip. Even allies react irritated.
Israel’s Prime Minister traveled to the USA for ceasefire at the beginning of the week to advise Donald Trump. The result: The US President wants to take over the Gaza Strip and relocate the people living there.
The latter had already indicated a few days ago when he called Egypt and Jordan to record around two million people from Gaza. Both countries had vehemently rejected the demand.
But Trump was not put off by that. His plan: The USA would “own” the Gaza Strip, clear and rebuild the terrain. If necessary, he would also send troops to the area.
So far, there has been only Israel’s prime minister. “He sees another future for this piece of land that was the origin of so much terrorism,” said Netanyahu after meeting Trump in the White House in Washington. “He has a different idea and I think she deserves our attention. That is something that could change the story,” he continued and described Trump’s plans as “remarkable”.
Hamas and Saudi Arabia of Trump’s plans are not enthusiastic
Other states look less positive at Trump’s ideas.
The Arab states fundamentally reject a resettlement of the Palestinians from the Gaza Strip. The reasons for this are diverse. In addition to domestic policies, the countries of the region fear that such a resettlement would cement Israeli control over the Gaza Strip and legitimize permanent displacement. In addition, they do not want to be considered an accomplices of a policy that could be interpreted as an ethnic cleaning.
A forced migration could also serve as a precedent for further displacement. In addition, tensions are threatened within the Arab league, since the load of the recording would be unevenly distributed. Above all, the Gulf States, who have only taken on limited responsibility in the form of financial support for the Palestinian population, could be under increased pressure to explain.
A high-ranking representative of the radical Islamic Hamas spoke of a “recipe to create chaos and tensions in the region”. The people in Gaza would not allow such plans.
Saudi Arabia turns to “any violation of the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, be it through Israeli settlement policy, annexation of the country or attempts to drive the Palestinian people away from their country,” said a statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Riad. The kingdom also strives for an independent Palestinian state within the borders of 1967 with East Jerusalem as the capital and the end of the Israeli occupation. Only under these conditions one wants to resume diplomatic relationships with Israel, it said
The Palestinian UN-envoy Rijad Mansur reacted similarly. He appealed to the heads of state and government worldwide to “respect” Palestinians’ wish for whereabouts in the Gaza Strip.
The executive director of Amnesty International USA said that the displacement of all Palestinians from Gaza “would be the same as a people” and emphasized: “The Gaza Strip is her homeland. Death and the destruction in the Gaza Strip are a consequence of the Israeli government Thousands of civilians kill, often with US bombs. “
Democrat: “This is a bad, sick joke!”
Australia, which is actually an ally of the United States, according to its own information on a two -state solution for the Middle East conflict. The country’s attitude is “the same as this morning, as in the past year,” says Prime Minister Anthony Albanese in front of the press: “The Australian government supports a two -state solution on the basis of a party.”
There were also criticism of Trump’s suggestions from the USA. Republican Senator Lindsey Graham said cautiously, but said that the citizens of his state would probably not be enthusiastic about “sending Americans to take over the Gaza Strip”.
The Democrats commented more drastically. In the short message service X, US Senator Chris Murphy said that Trump “completely lost his mind” and warned of the consequences of a US invasion of the Gaza Strip. “It’s like a bad, sick joke,” he wrote, emphasizing in another message that the dignity.
He’s Totally Lost it. A us invasion of gaza would lead to the slaughter of thousands of us troops and decades of war in the middle east. It’s like a bad, Sick Joke. https://t.co/on4vf4z4kb

The democratic US MP Rashida Tlaib reacted similarly. “This president can only give this fanatical bullshit because there is non -partisan support in the congress for the financing of genocide and ethnic cleansing,” she said. The Palestinians would not go there anywhere.
