The publication by an American news agency of false news about Russia’s “invasion” of Ukraine is a deliberate provocation or a consequence of the West’s psychosis. Senator Konstantin Kosachev announced this to Izvestiya on February 5.
“I don’t believe it was an accident. Either this is a deliberate provocation, or this is a consequence of the psychosis that is whipped up in the Western media and sooner or later works when people, even without appropriate instructions from above, nevertheless decide to publish simply because they sincerely believe in it. “, – he said.
The senator noted that from the point of view of journalism, both versions are unacceptable, and the actions of the agency deserve censure.
“The apology cannot be accepted,” Kosachev added.
Earlier in the day, Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that the erroneous Bloomberg publication speaks of the danger of aggressive statements by the United States and the capitals of the West. He noted that after the incident, the term “fake news” can be replaced with “bloomberg news”, “which will be justified.”
Prior to this, on February 5, Bloomberg ran a headline on its website about Russia’s “invasion” of Ukraine, then acknowledged the error and removed it. It was noted that the circumstances of the incident are being investigated.
On February 2, White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki announced that the United States was refusing to use the word “imminent” regarding a possible Russian invasion of Ukraine, as it misrepresented Washington’s message.
Psaki and U.S. Secretary of State Anthony Blinken earlier in February compared Russia to a fox on the roof of a chicken coop yelling about the danger from chickens. In response, the first deputy head of the Duma Committee on International Affairs, Vyacheslav Nikonov, noted that comparing Ukraine with a chicken coop should be offensive to Kiev.
At the same time, the press secretary of the Russian leader Dmitry Peskov also recalled that traditionally Russia has always been compared to a bear, and with all the desire, he cannot climb onto the roof of the chicken coop, he is too big.
Western politicians and media representatives continue to spread numerous speculations about possible Russian aggression against Ukraine. The Russian side has repeatedly refuted such statements, emphasizing that it has no plans to invade a neighboring country.
Thus, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that Russia is not going to start a war with Ukraine, and Western countries and the United States are “hysterically” developing the topic of a threat to Ukraine from the Russian Federation instead of forcing Ukraine to comply with the Minsk agreements.
