The State Duma called articles on the topic of “invasion” of Ukraine information strikes on the Russian Federation

Publications in the Western media on the topic of Russia’s “invasion” of Ukraine are information strikes against the Russian Federation, contributing to the development of instability in the region and whipping up hysteria. This was announced on February 5 by a member of the State Duma Committee on International Affairs Dmitry Belik.

Earlier in the day, the German tabloid Bild published a report by unnamed secret services about Russia’s alleged “plan” to annex Ukraine. The article cites a commentary by the Russian Embassy in Germany, where the statements made by the publication are called “a strange mixture of speculation and rumors.”

The publication of Bild appeared after the nightly publication of the Bloomberg agency about the alleged start of the “invasion” of the Russian Federation into Ukraine. The agency recognized the publication as erroneous and assured that it would look into the reasons.

“Today, when information spreads at the speed of light, media statements play the role of a projectile. First – a provocation from Bloomberg, now – an essay on a free theme from Bild, ”RIA Novosti quotes the parliamentarian.

According to Belik, such absurd information strikes create an unstable situation in the world, “incite panic, promote hysteria.” At the same time, the Western press does not need a reason, since “they themselves will come up with everything, comment and distribute it.”

He also stressed that the largest German daily newspaper Bild, as a tabloid publication, is chasing sensations. According to Belik, I would like to ask the question, who does the editorial board take readers for if it publishes “outright nonsense”.

Earlier on Saturday, Alexei Chepa, First Deputy Head of the State Duma Committee on International Affairs, said that the publications of the Bild newspaper and Bloomberg agency were provocations aimed at Russian reaction for the subsequent accusation of Moscow of aggression. Publications of this kind carry high risks of provocations in the region, he stressed.

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova stressed that speculation about Russia’s “invasion” of Ukraine is “a crime against the planet and democracy.” Democracy is now undergoing a colossal test, the diplomat added.

Western politicians and media representatives continue to spread numerous speculations about possible Russian aggression against Ukraine. The Russian side has repeatedly refuted such statements, emphasizing that it has no plans to invade a neighboring country.

So, on January 28, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said that Russia was not going to start a war with Ukraine, and Western countries and the United States were “hysterically” developing the topic of a threat to Ukraine from the Russian Federation instead of forcing Ukraine to comply with the Minsk agreements.
