Before the next tariff round for the public service, the outstanding has a lot of uplay. Already on Friday, the promotions continue with a view to international women’s day.

Tens of thousands of employees have resigned nationwide in many clinics, rescue centers and nursing homes. The Verdi union had previously called for a warning strike in the public service of the federal government and municipalities in the public service of the federal government and municipalities, and there were rallies in many places. Around 20,000 people in more than 200 health facilities would have participated in the outstanding, said Richard Rother from Verdi when asked by DPA.

In North Rhine-Westphalia alone, the Verdi call was followed by around 4,000 employees from more than 50 institutions, reported a state spokeswoman. A total of 18 hospitals are affected in Hesse, and around 1,500 employees had participated in work -ups and rallies, according to a spokesman. According to Verdi, too, there was a high level of participation in the central rally at the Charité and the Vivantes clinics.

Third round of negotiations from March 14th

The background to the warning strike is the collective bargaining dispute in the public service of the federal government and the municipalities. Verdi calls for a tariff increase of eight percent, but at least 350 euros more per month and higher surcharges for work to be stressed and unfavorable. The training allowances and internship fees are to be raised by 200 euros per month. In addition, the union calls for at least three additional days off.

Municipal employers criticized the outstanding. “Warning strikes that restrict or even paralyze childcare, health care and local transport primarily harm the citizens,” said Niklas Benrath, general manager of the association of municipal employers’ associations (VKA). This is not understandable in the middle of the negotiations. According to the will, the third round of negotiations from March 14 to 16 should bring a “sustainable solution”.
