Interview with Fox News
Donald Trump rages on TV: Maybe Ukraine doesn’t survive anyway
In an interview with the US broadcaster Fox News, Donald Trump attacked Ukraine again. Criticism that he was too Russia-friendly rejected the US President.
US President Donald Trump again causes outrage with statements about Ukraine. In an interview with the broadcaster Fox News, Trump was asked if he was comfortable with the fact that he had stopped the help for the country and that Ukraine may not survive this. The Republican replied: “Well, she may not survive anyway.”
With regard to Russia’s war of aggression against his neighbor, Trump continued, two were always a conflict. “And now we’re in this mess.” He again accused the Ukrainian President Wolodymyr Selenskyj.
The US government had carried out a radical U-turn in Ukraine policy under Trump and finally fully set support for Kiev-at least for the time being. From the White House it was said that the Ukrainian President Wolodymyr Selenskyj should be forced to negotiate peace.
Donald Trump called Wolodymyr Selenskyj “dictator”
Trump had previously postponed Selenskyj’s responsibility for the war chief Vladimir Putin and accused him of not wanting to end the war. Trump also called the Ukrainian president a “dictator”. Between the two there was a serious scandal during a meeting in the White House in front of the world public.
Recently there was an approximation between Trump and Selenskyj again, but the US aid for Ukraine is still on hold. And overall, the US President represented the positions of Russia in the conflict. However, Trump defends himself against allegations that he unilaterally hit the Moscow side.
“I think I’m very hard towards Russia – harder than everyone else has ever been to Russia,” Trump said in the interview with Fox News. Among other things, he cited his resistance against the North Stream 2 natural gas pipeline between Russia and Germany during his first term (2017 to 2021). The underwater pipeline was completed in 2021, but never went into commercial operation.
