Saxony: Minister of Culture Clemens must give a driver’s license

Saxony’s Minister of Culture Clemens has to temporarily give his driver’s license. It is said to have driven more than twice as quickly as allowed in a 30s zone.

Minister of Culture Conrad Clemens has dealt with a two -month driving ban with a fine. The reason: he was caught in a 30s zone in Krauschwitz (Görlitz district) with 80 km / h, as Radio Lausitz reports.

Accordingly, he initially objected, so that the case should be negotiated as an administrative offense at the Weißwasser district court. However, he retired and registered for a driving suitability seminar. “Yes, I made a mistake. I was responsible for that,” he told the broadcaster.

At the request of the dpa news agency, Clemens admitted to having driven too quickly. The incident came from 2023. At that time, he was not yet a minister of culture, but state secretary and authorized representative of the Free State of Saxony at the federal government.
