According to Foreign Minister Rubio, the South African ambassador is an “undesirable person”, according to Foreign Minister Rubio. The relationships between the two countries are deteriorating.
The United States has the South African ambassador to Washington, Ebrahim Rasool. “South Africa’s ambassador in the United States is no longer welcome in our great country,” said US Secretary of State Marco Rubio on Friday in the online service X. Rasool, “stirs up racist tensions, hates the USA and hates President Donald Trump,” wrote Rubio. “We have nothing to talk to him, and that’s why he is considered an unwanted person.”
Rasool’s expulsion is another step in the intensifying conflict between Washington and Pretoria. Trump had frozen the help of the United States for South Africa in February and appointed himself to a land -appropriation law, which in his opinion discriminates against white farmers.
Elon Musk criticizes South Africa
One of Trump’s closest advisors, the Tech billionaire Elon Musk, is born in South Africa and accuses the South African government that the country’s property laws are “obviously racist”.
Land ownership is a sensitive topic in South Africa, since three decades after the end of the apartheid, most of the arable land is still in possession of white and the government is under pressure to implement reforms.
The law on the landing of land was signed by South Africa President Cyril Ramaphosa in January. According to state expropriations, the government does not have to make any compensation payments under state expropriation.
