Five years after the first Lockdown, Corona pandemic seems far away for many. For others she remains an open wound. A review is urgent, says Sahra Wagenknecht.
Before the fifth anniversary of the first Corona Lockdown, BSW boss Sahra Wagenknecht reaffirmed her demand for an investigation committee on pandemic. It is a serious mistake that there is still no review at the federal level, no compensation for the victims and no amnesty for punishments imposed at that time and fines, said Wagenknecht.
“The Lockdowns had devastating consequences for our country, which are still felt today,” added the party founder. She complained “political pressure on dissenters” and an exclusion of unvaccinated. “Corona policy is the most authoritarian chapter in the history of the Federal Republic,” said Wagenknecht.
Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier had also asked the future federal government and the Bundestag to process corona pandemic. “I think it is essential that transparency is made so that we can regain as many people as possible who doubted democracy in the time of pandemic,” said Steinmeier on Friday.
