US President Trump boasts of his good relationship with Kremlin chief Putin. Since he has been back in office, he has often given Moscow’s perspective on things. Now a personnel are listened to.
US President Donald Trump has withdrawn responsibility for Russia for the Ukraine War. While the US media interpreted the surprising step as a concession to Moscow, Trump and his special representative Keith Kellogg, who was responsible for Ukraine, did not want him to be understood as degradation in the future.
“I am pleased to be able to tell you that General Keith Kellogg has been appointed special envoy for Ukraine,” Trump wrote in his Truth network. He did not address the fact that he himself had given the ex-military in November the negotiations for the end of the war, which had been going on since February 2022 and thus for Russia like Ukraine.
The Kremlin had put pressure on Kellogg to take out the game because it was supposedly Proukrainian, reported the US television channel NBC and other media in the past few days. Like his boss, Kellogg did not respond to the circumcision of his portfolio. He only wrote in network X that he was deeply honored by the President’s trust who would end the war.
Kellogg was not involved in important conversations
In fact, Kellogg was not part of the US delegation in important discussions on the Ukraine conflict in Russia and Saudi Arabia. Trump’s contacts to Moscow ran over his Middle East Enter Steve Witkoff. US Secretary of State Marco Rubio spoke on Saturday with his Russian colleague Sergei Lavrow about further steps after the latest meetings in Saudi Arabia, as Rubios Ministry announced. It has been agreed to continue working on normalized communication between Moscow and Washington.
Kellogg, on the other hand, will negotiate directly with the Ukrainian President Wolodymyr Selenskyj and the Ukrainian leadership, Trump said. His representative has a good work relationship to lead in Kyiv.
The retired lieutenant general worked as a chief of staff on the National Security Council during Trump’s first term from 2017 to 2021. Kellogg treated the Ukrainians friendlier than Trump himself or his Vice President JD Vance. With a view to the interim stopping of US military aids, he compared them to a stubborn mule, to which you have to hit a cantwood on the nose. “This is how you get your attention.”
Trump takes over Moscow perspective on fighting in Kursk
Trump has always praised his good relationship with Russia President Vladimir Putin. Since he has been back in office, he apparently tries to build on it. Most recently, Trump took over the presentation of Moscow in the fights in the Russian area of Moscow that thousands of Ukrainian soldiers were encircled there. The US President practically played the ball and asked him publicly to spare the life of these soldiers. The Kremlin chief agreed – if Ukraine commands their soldiers to put their weapons down.
The Ukrainian army has largely had to vacate its bridgehead in the Russian area of Kursk for seven months, including the district town of Sudscha. The Ukrainian general staff like Russian military bloggers, however, agree that no powers of the Ukrainians are encircled.
President Selenskyj also spoke of a “lie of Putin” on Saturday. There is no encirclement. He did not rule out that Russia could try to circle Ukrainian units near the border on Ukrainian territory. There are indications that Russian troops wanted to penetrate the north Ukrainian area of Sumy.
Ukraine appoints negotiators for possible peace talks
Selenskyj followed the United States’ diplomatic initiatives for a way out of the war and appointed a negotiation team. He made his influential law firm Andrij Jermak as chief negotiator. Foreign Minister Andrij Sybiha, Minister of Defense Rustem Umjerow and Jermak’s deputy Pawlo Palissa are also part of the delegation.
The four negotiators held talks with the United States in Saudi Arabia last week. This led to the resumption of arms deliveries from the United States. The Ukraine agreed to the US proposal for a 30-day fire break-even if Moscow is also involved.
Russia is against an unconditional break of fire. The Kremlin also treats the USA as a contact person, not the Ukrainian leadership and not the European countries.
Ukraine uses Neptune rocket with a high range
Meanwhile, according to Selenskyjs, the Ukrainian army has successfully used the further developed anti-ship rocket Neptune. “It is a new Ukrainian rocket, a precise blow. The range is a thousand kilometers,” wrote the president on Telegram.
According to Ukrainian media reports, the mented blow might have been the goal of the hit on the Russian refinery in Tuapse on the Black Sea from Friday morning. According to the regional Russian authorities, the facility was still burning on Saturday evening.
The night on Sunday started again with aerial arm for the eastern half of Ukraine because swarms of Russian combat drones were located. A drone set fire to a five -story house in the city of Tschernihiw north of Kiev, as the Suspilne radio reported. There was initially no information about victims.
