The Pope has been in the hospital for a good month. His state of health continues to improve.

A good month after his admission to the hospital, Pope Francis has further improved. The 88-year-old could make do without any oxygen supply at times, said the Holy Stuhl in the evening. At night he would be “non-invasively mechanically ventilically”. This usually means ventilation from an oxygen mask on the mouth and nose.

“The state of the Pope is stable and has improved slightly thanks to breathing and movement therapy,” it said. He spent the day with prayer, calm and work. The next medical bulletin is planned for Wednesday.

The head of the Catholic Church has been treated in the Gemelli Hospital in Rome since February 14. According to the doctors, he suffers from a severe pneumonia on both sides. To make matters worse, it has been missing part of the right lung wing since an operation at a young age.
