Green Group leader Britta Haßelmann sharply attacked Merz in her speech: “We all knew that this country needed investments”-but Merz kept dismissing that.
Green Group leader Britta Haßelmann sharply attacked the Union in the Bundestag-but justified the planned approval of her parliamentary group to the financial package with responsibility for the country. Everyone already knew last year that Germany urgently needed investments and at the same time more money for defense-also CDU boss Friedrich Merz, Haßelmann argued in the special meeting in Berlin. Merz and his party, however, would never have admitted this publicly and even defamed the Greens for corresponding claims.
Before the Bundestag election, Merz categorically rejected any idea to reform the debt brake or to expand special funds and said that there was no need. The Union “really intoxicated” this. This has not been done with reason in parliament, with democratic customs, with a reasonable way of dealing with each other and argument on the matter.
However, all of this would not be wrong with all of this. “We are responsible for future generations,” emphasized Haßelmann. She was “glad that we will decide that today”. The Greens are not concerned with wiping one or putting on blockade. “No, this is not our yardstick for political action,” emphasized Haßelmann.
