Why the AfD is exceptionally right

Friedrich Merz wanted to halve the AfD. Instead, he helps the right -wing extremist with his erratic politics. As a chancellor, he is not allowed to go on like this.
On Tuesday afternoon, AfD chairman Tino Chrupalla stood in the plenary hall of the Reichstag building and called: “The elected 20th German Bundestag is used to cement the future federal government-and of course because they only have the majorities here.” The voters felt cheated by the Union. Incidentally, “special funds are and remain special debt.”
Then Chrupalla turned to Friedrich Merz. It is only about the chancellorship, he said. Already in the election campaign, the CDU chairman showed that he has “no backbone”: “But that they are now completely invertebrate will prove with this vote.”
The interesting thing about Chrupalla’s speech was: it dealt with the possible polemics withdrawn to the precise description of reality.
Because it is simply the fact that Merz had excluded additional debts in the Bundestag election campaign, just to revise this promise shortly after the election. And it is a fact that the old Bundestag only met again on this day because there is no two -thirds majority beyond the AfD and Left Party in the new Bundestag.
Thanks to the Merz Union, the AfD no longer needs to distort or falsify the facts until they recognize it in order to discred state institutions. It only needs to refer to the real facts.
In particular, the incredible fact that the old Bundestag expressed credit for more than one trillion euro, although the new Bundestag has long been elected, all stereotypes confirmed “The politics” and “The up there” as they are cultivated by the AfD. The party just has to watch in a state -supporting pose how the political center itself makes itself impossible.
The bitter thing is that the decisions of Tuesday are justifiable. Germany will not survive the historical challenges of the next few years without new loans. This applies to defense. And that applies to the infrastructure.
However, such overturning decisions should either have been made before the Bundestag election or had to be left to the new parliament. Unfortunately, both Friedrich Merz did not have the insight or the format for both.
Friedrich Merz strengthens the AfD
Instead, he strengthens the extremes again. Just as he was looking for majorities with the AfD at the end of January, only to have not wanted this afterwards, he now provides her argumentation aid against the democratic institutions.
It has always been part of the strategy of populists and extremists to attack a liberal state until it no longer observes its own rules and values - and thereby dismantled itself. Even the man who wants to become a chancellor should finally understand and more importantly: act accordingly.
This includes differentiating between a class -fighting but democratic left and an increasingly right -wing radical AfD. Otherwise, the next word fracture will threaten in a few months when it comes to the real reform of the debt brake.
