Personalists from Lauterbach accidentally fires shot
A shot falls on the departure of Health Minister Lauterbach from Cologne Airport in November. A company car is damaged. What happened?
On a departure from Federal Minister of Health Karl Lauterbach (SPD) from Cologne Airport in November 2024, a shot accidentally loosened when unloading the service pistol of a bodyguard. The ball penetrated into a service limousine, as the “Bild” newspaper reported on Wednesday.
The Federal Criminal Police Office (BKA) in Wiesbaden informed the German Press Agency that there was an unintentional shot in the trunk of a company car.
Shot on Lauterbach departure: Disciplinary proceedings followed
A spokeswoman for the BKA said: “A disciplinary assessment was already in conclusion in 2024.” She did not give any further details. “In 2024 there were a total of two unintentional shot taxes in the Federal Criminal Police Office. Both cases concerned arms bearers of the security group department,” added the spokeswoman.
The BKA security group is responsible for the protection of the federal constitutional organs and thus also the Federal Minister. Inspire body guards go through a special training several months. “The everyday work of a personal advocate includes continuous training in self -defense, shooting, team exercise et cetera,” says the homepage of the central office of the German criminal police.
