The domestic secret service has been observing the Southwest AfD since 2022. The party defends itself with courts – and suffers one slump after the other.
The Southwest AfD may continue to classify and observe the Southwest AfD as a right-wing extremist suspicion. The Administrative Court of Stuttgart rejected a corresponding lawsuit by the AfD.
According to the tenor of the decision of the Stuttgart Administrative Court on Thursday, the public announcement of the observation is also permitted. The written reasons were not yet available. For any appeal, the deadline only begins with the existence of the written judgment.
AfD sees observation as discredited by the protection of the constitution
It is a main procedure. The court had previously decided in an urgent procedure. Even in front of the administrative court in Mannheim, the regional association suffered a slump in the urgent procedure. Because members of the AfD entered “an ethnic concept of popularly”, there are actual indications of anti -constitutional efforts, according to the VGH.
The State Office for the Protection of the Constitution has been observing the AfD state association as a suspected case since 2022. The classification means that the intelligence officers are allowed to take a closer look at the AfD, under strict prerequisites to observe members, monitor telephones, monitor them, incorporate informants. The state association complained of the observation by the state office and its public announcement. From the perspective of the Südwest-AfD, domestic intelligence agency is instrumentalized to discredinate political competitors.
