End of the ceasefire: dozens of deaths on Israel’s offensive – Hamas fires rockets

After Israel’s military has expanded his offensive in the Gaza Strip, Islamist Hamas once again fires rockets on Israel. According to the Israeli army, one of three floors fired from the south of the Gaza Strip was intercepted. The other two went down on open terrain. Warning sirens previously started in several areas in the center of Israel, also in the east of the coastal metropolis Tel Aviv.

As a result of the Israeli attacks in the Gaza Strip, 85 deaths were brought to hospitals, according to the health authority controlled by the Hamas. In the attacks since early morning, more than 130 other people were injured.

Fear and flight determine the life of people in Gaza

After two months of fire, people in the Gaza Strip are currently in fear of being killed or losing relatives. Many Palestinians also have to flee from their home takers again. The Israeli army has released escape demands for certain areas, most recently for an area in the east of the city of Chan Junis.

According to a media report, prices for food such as flour and oil have also risen sharply in the Gaza strip since Israel has attacked targets there again. The Palestinian news agency Wafa reported that one kilogram of sugar is currently the equivalent of almost nine euros.

Raket alarm in the center of Israel

The military arm of the terrorist organization Hamas, the Kassam brigades, claimed the rocket attack on Israel. According to media reports, the city of Rischon Lezion fell south of Tel Aviv rocket splinters.

At night there had already been a rocket attack by the Huthi militia in Yemen. That is why the warning sirens were crying for the first time in the Tel Aviv area and in Jerusalem. The Israeli army announced that a rocket fired from Yemen had been intercepted before it entered Israeli.

The Huthi-Miliz justifies its rocket attacks by the fact that it wanted to force Israel to give up the blockade of the Gaza Strip. Israel demands from Hamas to released the remaining kidnapped hostages.

Hamas authority: More than 500 deaths in Gaza

Israel’s army announced that she killed important Islamists in the Gaza Strip, including the head of a unit of Hamas, which should be responsible for their assets in the Gaza Strip and abroad, as well as for the oppression of resistance to Hamas.

Since the night of Tuesday, Israel’s army has been attacking the Islamist Hamas with massive air strikes and the Islamist Islamic Islamic jihad with it. According to the health authority controlled by the Hamas, more than 500 people have so far been killed. With Israel’s air strikes, a ceasefire that has been in force since January 19.

Mutual blame for the end of the ceasefire

Both sides have the fault of each other: Israel accuses the Hamas of repeatedly refusing to recruit the arms for an extension of the ceasefire and release of the hostages. The Palestinian organization, in turn, accuses Israel of the government of having terminated the ceasefire unilaterally.

Israel limits movement of the Gaza residents

Israel also wants to increase the pressure on the Islamist Hamas with a new soil offensive in the Gaza Strip. During its recent “targeted ground attacks”, the Israeli army also expanded its control in the so-called Netzarim corridor, which divides the coastal strip into a northern and a southern half.

Hamas spoke of a “serious violation of the ceasefire agreement”. In February, Israel’s army retired from the corridor as part of the agreement – with the exception of a one kilometer wide area directly on the border with Israel.

In the meantime, people can only use a coastal road if they want to come from the north to the south or from the south to the north. According to the army, you can no longer pass an important street.

Mediation efforts in Cairo

The United States, Qatar and Egypt had negotiated a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas, which had been for six weeks since January and initially for six weeks. So far, the two sides have not been able to agree on the conditions for an extension. Israel had threatened to resume the war if Hamas did not release any other hostages.

On Wednesday, an Israeli delegation was on negotiating talks in Egypt’s capital Cairo, well -informed circles at the airport said. It was initially unclear whether a Hamas team is currently on site.
