Trump has instructed the responsible manager of the authorities to collect the shares and to immediately refuse access to secret documents to those affected. Likewise, they should no longer receive access to government institutions – so -called SCIFS – without accompaniment, which in fact keep them away from sensitive areas.

It doesn’t come as a surprise. Trump already showed that he wanted to deny some opponents access to confidential data at the beginning of February. Observers interpreted this as part of a revenge plan who has emerged since his return to the White House in January 2025.

For bidges, this means that in the future he has to do without the daily secret service reports (Presidential Daily Briefings), who are usually also entitled to ex-presidents. Trump justified his decision in February with the fact that Biden refused to access certain safety information in 2021-a reaction to Trump’s “soulful behavior”, as Biden called it, especially after the Capitol attack. Usually, former presidents retain a certain release in order to serve as a guide if necessary. Trump deliberately breaks with this custom. Critics speak of a “petty and resentant” act, while the White House claims that it is about “protecting national security”.
