Two German ministries react so creatively to the US chat scandal
Donald Trump’s Defense Minister Pete Hegseth accidentally invited a journalist into a secret chat group – and the world mocks. Now also German ministries.
It could hardly be more embarrassing: a US journalist accidentally ended up in a group chat from the Trump government-in the middle of discussions about a military strike. Security experts raised the alarm. The white house tries to brick off.
At times, Trump’s consultants even tried to present the breakdown as a positive event. It proves how effectively the new US government is working.

Trump himself explained that he had never heard of the group chat. While you try to limit damage in Washington, the rest of the world mocks over the US President and his ministers.
The German Foreign Office even lined up: it took part in the mocking meme around secret chats and posted a video on the social network Instagram.

The one-minute clip shows a fictional conversation in a group chat-a clear reference to the US chat scandal. A funny melody runs in the background, in almost every message there is an avalanche bizarre emojis, and in allusion to the US chats there are also formulations such as “Powerful Basic Law!” to read.
Some of the fictitious news seem very stilted, but the common social media user learns a lot directly: for example, that, of course, there is still the executive federal government that must be able to act until the start of the new federal government.
