War in Ukraine: Putin wants to put Ukraine for a limited period of UN administration

Putin wants to put Ukraine temporary under UN administration

Because he does not want to negotiate with the Ukrainian President Selenskyj, Kremlin chief Putin suggests external administration and new elections in Ukraine. Putin doesn’t want to negotiate at all costs.

Russia’s President Vladimir Putin has proposed to provide the Ukraine he attacked under the administration of the United Nations in order to carry out elections. “There is such a practice and in principle you can of course discuss the possibility of a temporary UN administration with the USA, the European countries and-of course-also discuss with our partners and friends,” said Putin in a conversation with sailors of a nuclear submarine. The aim is to carry out democratic elections, in which a government capable of acting comes to power for a peace conclusion.

“We then start negotiations on a peace treaty, sign legitimate documents that are recognized worldwide and are safe and stable,” said Putin.

The demand for external administration for Ukraine serves two argumentation patterns of the Kremlin. Moscow claims that Ukraine is a failed state in which National Socialist groups had taken power. The second thesis goes to the fact that Ukrainian President Wolodymyr Selenskyj no longer has a mandate after his term in office. According to Ukrainian lawyers, the extension of the powers of attorney is covered by war law. Internationally, he is also recognized as President – also because new elections in the country are not feasible in the country due to the occupation of large areas by Russia.

Putin: Diplomacy not at all costs, Russia also wins

Putin again emphasized that Russia prefers a peaceful solution – “but not at our expense”. He was ready to negotiate – also with the Europeans. Russia will not be cheated.

Militually, the Kremlin chief was once again aware of the victory. The Russian armed forces have already conquered 99 percent of the Luhansk area and more than 70 percent of the Donetsk, Cherson and Saporischschja areas, which were also annexed by Moscow. The Ukrainian troops were shortly before the total defeat, Putin claimed “There is reason to assume that we give them the punch.”
