US President Donald Trump aims at critical museums with a decree of “restoring truth and reason in American history”-and history.
US President Donald Trump wants to reinterpret the history of the United States and has commissioned his Vice JD Vance to work, especially in museums in terms of representations in the interests of the new government. In the past decade, there have been “concerted and widespread attempts to rewrite the history of our country and to replace facts with a distorted narrative that is more determined by ideology than truth”, Trump wrote in a decree with the name “Restoration of Truth and Reason in American History”.
The Republican blamed a “revisionist movement”, which was funded by the democratic predecessor. “The incomparable heritage of our nation, the freedom, the rights of the individual and the happiness of people drives forward, was shown as racist, sexist, expressly or otherwise unettable with flaws,” the decree said. The famous Smithsonian Institution is mentioned as an example, which operates several museums, especially in the capital Washington.
In recent years, the Smithsonian has been under the influence of a split ideology geared to ethnicity, Trump criticized ideology. In the decree, the exhibition “The Shape of Power: Stories of Race and American Sculpture” is explicitly called, which among other things is represented by the thesis that differences between people are used to incapacitate and maintain power relationships. In addition, sculptures are presented as an effective instrument for promoting scientific racism.
Donald Trump angry on critical museums
The relatively new National Museum of African American History and Culture, which is devoted to African -American history, also attracted Trump’s wrath. So it is said that “hard work”, “individualism” and the “core family” aspects of the “white culture” are, the decree says. Trump did not agree with the working method of the American Women’s History Museum.
Who has that stuff to the Trump fright?
Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez
The still young MP with Puerto-Rican roots could use the headlessness of her party to get rid of her label as an eternal talent. At first glance, it is finally the ideal face for a democratic reorganization.
But at the veneration that AOC enjoys under progressive, there is a lack of the entire political residual spectrum. Also in your own party. The 35-year-old, who describes himself as a democratic socialist, is too extreme to most moderate Democrats. Their appearance is too aggressive, their views hardly majority capable. If she wants to be more than a popular marginal phenomenon, she wants to take the role of the reconciler, she has to take a precisely measured step towards the middle – just as far as to be taken seriously without stringing up her fan base. A feat.

The President commissioned Vance to enforce changes in the museums and in the Washington zoo, which is also part of the Smithsonian. So he should work there and in research centers that “inappropriate ideology” no longer has any space. Vance should also ensure that no more money will be spent on exhibitions in the future, with which “common American values” would be reduced.
