Forms, papers and the walk to the office – many people want more digitization in Germany. For consumers, many things could happen in this area in the new month.
Show the driver’s license on the cell phone? It could still take it to it – after all, the vehicle registration certificate should be digital in April. The new month also brings incisions for some parents. An overview of the changes:
Cuts in parental allowance
The parental allowance that mothers and fathers receive as a wage replacement benefit if they stay at home after the birth of a child should only go to single parents and couples who have a taxable annual income of a maximum of 175,000 euros. This new border applies if the child is born on or after April 1st.
Test run for the digital vehicle registration certificate
The vehicle papers no longer take with them, but show on the smartphone: In April a test run for the digital vehicle registration certificate begins. From the beginning of the month, interested drivers can test an app that was developed together by the Federal Motor Transport Authority and the Federal Drinting.
New questions for the theoretical driver’s license test
If you want to get your driver’s license, you will have to prepare for a revised questionnaire from April 1st. Some questions were canceled, for example, due to legal changes, others were added – for example to turn right, to go to crossings at intersections or to certain traffic signs.
Electronic travel permit for Great Britain
If you want to travel to Great Britain from countries without a visa, such as the EU countries or Switzerland, will need an electronic travel permit in addition to the passport. According to the British Ministry of the Interior, the new regulation for Europeans should apply from April 2, 2025. The approval known as ETA (Electronic Travel Authorization) costs £ 10 (11.93 euros) and must be renewed after two years at the latest.
Colon cancer prevention earlier for women
Women used to be entitled to intestinal cancer. Two colonoscopies for early detection are possible in the minimum distance of ten years. For men, the age limit had been reduced earlier because they have a higher risk of colon cancer. If you don’t want to undergo a colonoscopy, you can do a chair test every two years.
Does the electronic patient file come?
The test for the electronic patient file (EPA) has been running since January 15 – so far only in three test regions and around 300 participating practices. According to the Federal Ministry of Health, this test phase is currently evaluated. If there is a positive judgment, it could be introduced from the end of April.
All health data such as X -ray images, doctor’s letters and laboratory findings are to be saved in the EPA. With the introduction, the document exchange between different medical practices or with pharmacies should be facilitated. Every cash patient should receive the EPA according to the plans of the Federal Ministry of Health – unless it contradicts.
