Trump’s claims for ownership: Greenland’s head of government: USA does not get our island

The newly elected Prime Minister of Greenland, Jens-Frederik Nielsen, has made a clear rejection of the ownership claims of US President Donald Trump. Denmark’s Prime Minister travels to Greenland

The US President said last week: “We have to have Greenland.” This is very important for international security and world peace, according to Trump to reporters in the White House. About the same time, his Vice President JD Vance paid a visit to a US military base in Greenland and sharply criticized the Danish government.

Greenland is officially part of the Kingdom of Denmark, but enjoys a largely autonomous status within the so -called Danish Reich community. The island has around 57,000 inhabitants.

The Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen wants to travel to Greenland on Wednesday. According to her, it is about strengthening the bond with Denmark.
