The Ukraine attacked by Russia is dependent on support in their defense fight. The European Union now transfers another billion from an aid program.
Ukraine has received another 3.5 billion euros from the European Union. “These funds help us to maintain macroeconomic stability,” wrote Prime Minister Denys Schmyhal at Telegram. According to a message, the transfer is 3.1 billion euros in reduced loans, 400 million euros are grants. The tranche is part of the Ukraine Facility support program planned by 2027 over a total of 50 billion euros. In 2024, Ukraine had already received 16 billion euros from it.
Ukraine has been fighting against a Russian invasion with western help for more than three years. According to the Ministry of Finance in Kiev, foreign aids of the equivalent of almost 110 billion euros have since flowed into the Ukrainian budget.
