Vladimir Putin likes to show himself with loyal allies. One of them is the Bosnian Serb leader Milorad Dodik, who is now in Moscow.
The Russian President Vladimir Putin received the Bosnian Serb leader Milorad Dodik in Moscow, who was looking for an international arrest warrant. The Kremlin published a video on Tuesday how the two shake their hands and then sit at a table. “I am very happy to see her in Moscow,” said Putin. According to Kremlin, Putin’s consultant Juri Uschakow also took part in the meeting with Dodik.
Dodik had announced his arrival in Moscow on Monday. He published a video of himself in front of the tomb of the unknown soldier in the Russian capital in the online service X. In the approximately two -minute admission, Dodik praised the Russian president as “historical leader (…) of the Russian Volks”.
Connected by weak central government
The Bosnian State Court had issued an international arrest warrant against Dodik last week. Two weeks earlier, the public prosecutor had ordered the president of the President of the Republika Srpska (RS), which was mainly inhabited by Bosnian Serbs. Dodik had previously unilaterally declared the jurisdiction of the judiciary and police of the Bosnian central state for the Republika Srpska, although the RS is part of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Bosnia and Herzegovina has been divided into the Republica Srpska, which is predominantly inhabited by Bosnian Serbs, and the Croatian Muslim Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina since the Peace Agreement of Dayton. The two semi -autonomous parts of the country are connected by a weak central government.
