Turkey is in a severe crisis, there are always mass protests. Regular demonstrations should begin from next week.
Against the background of the political crisis in Turkey, the largest opposition party Chp has specified its protest plans. Only from next week will be protested every Wednesday in Istanbul and every weekend in various locations in the country, a party spokesman said. CHP boss Özgür Özel said on the weekend that the protest began “from now on”. Due to a party congress scheduled for Sunday, the start is only planned for the coming week, said the spokesman.
Turkey has overthrown the arrest and subsequent arrest of the Istanbul Mayor Ekrem Imamoglu, which has now been abandoned. Hundreds of thousands then took to the streets in government -critical protests. Imamoglu was custody on March 19 in connection with corruption and terrorist investigations. He denies the allegations. The government is assumed that the judiciary will eliminate the greatest competitor of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
