Ukrainian troops are trying along the long border to keep moving to Russian territory. In the Belgorod area, the Russian army therefore used a special defense measure.
According to Moscow military observers, the Russian army destroyed its own dam in the Belgorod border area with an aviation bomb. A video circulating in social networks showed the impact of the presumably three tons of weighing explosive set. The use of the village of Popowka was only a few hundred meters from the Ukrainian border. This is intended to prevent the laying of severe Ukrainian armored technology.
Fights have been raging for the nearby place Demidowka for almost two weeks. The Ukrainian side has not yet commented on the Belgorod area. The Russian Ministry of Defense informed about warded attacks. Ukrainian military observers characterize the area as competitive. Ukrainian units had occupied a larger area for months in the neighboring region of Kursk, but recently had to largely withdraw.
Ukraine has been defending itself against a Russian invasion for more than three years.
