In Jabalija, a clinic of the Palestinian aid plant Unrwa is said to have been hit in an air raid. The army speaks of an attack on a command center of Hamas terrorists.
The Israeli Minister of Defense Israel Katz has announced a significant expansion of the army’s missions in the Gaza Strip. The aim is to “clean the area of terrorists and terrorist infrastructure,” said a message from the minister. This was also talking about the conquest of extensive areas that should become Israeli “security zones”. According to media reports, the military sent another unit to expand the operations in the south of the Gaza Strip.
According to Palestinian media reports, a clinic of the UN Palestinian Aid Unkrwa was hit in an Israeli air raid in the northern Gaza Strip. At least 19 people, including nine minors, were killed in the incident in Jabalija, others were injured, reported the Palestinian news agency Wafa. According to the report, domestic displaced persons were in the area of the clinic. A fire broke out in the building.
Army speaks of Hamas command center center
The Israeli army, on the other hand, spoke of an attack on Hamas terrorists in Jabalija. These would have been in a command center “that served to coordinate terrorist activities and the central meeting point for the terrorist organization”. From there, terrorist attacks on Israeli goals were planned. Before the attack, measures were taken to protect civilians.
Katz calls Gaza residents to expulsion of Hamas
“I call the residents of Gazas to become active for the expulsion of Hamas and the return of all hostages,” said Katz’s message. “This is the only way to end the war.” Katz had previously threatened that Israel would permanently take parts of the Gaza Strip. The longer the Islamist Hamas Winere, hosted hostages, the more territory it will lose to Israel. Most recently there had been protests against the war and Hamas rule in the Gaza strip.
Rafah’s residents are fleeing again
In the past few days, the Israeli army had asked the inhabitants of the southern city of Rafah and neighboring places to flee from there. After many months of the war, a ceasefire came into force in the Gaza Strip on January 19. Many displaced persons within the area then returned to their home in the area. In mid -March, Israel resumed the massive attacks after no agreement with Islamist Hamas had been reached for the conditions for extending the fire break.
Since then, Israel’s army has also carried out soil operations against Hamas in Rafah, on Saturday she extended the offensive to a second quarter of the city. According to the army, the aim of the new soil offensive in the Gaza Strip is to build a buffer zone along the borders of the coastal area.
Group of Germans can leave gaza stripes
The federal government has made 19 German citizens and their closest relatives possible to leave the competitive Gaza Strip. A total of 33 people were, a spokeswoman for the Federal Foreign Office in Berlin said. Accordingly, they were brought to an airport in southern Israel in close coordination with the Israeli authorities via the Kerem Schalom border crossing, from where it went directly to Leipzig.
The departure from the Gaza Strip, which has been blocked for almost two decades, in which around two million people live, has become even more difficult since the beginning of the war a year and a half ago. If at all, it is only possible through a protracted procedure in which Palestinians with foreign citizenship have slightly better cards.
Baerbock: Good day for us
The executive Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock is facilitated on the edge of a visit to the ex-Soviet Republic of Moldova. “This is a good day for us,” said the Greens politician. For the past year and a half, it has campaigned for the departure as well as for the release of the hostages deported by Hamas, among which German citizens are still.
She emphasized that the departure had taken place under high security requirements. “This is our top priority.” And of course only the closest relatives came out, “children, father, mother”.
Other German citizens in the Gaza Strip
According to the Federal Foreign Office, there is still a “low double -digit number” of German citizens in the sealed coastal area. They also want to enable them to leave, said the spokeswoman for the Federal Foreign Office. But that is not a thing that succeeds “overnight”.
In the course of the war, which started with the Hamas terrorist attack on Israel on October 7, large parts of the Gaza Strip were devastated. The living conditions for the civilian population are unbearable.
