Donald Trump’s lawsuit against the author of a secret dossier rejected a British court last year. The US President must now pay the process costs.
A British court sentenced US President Donald Trump to pay process costs of £ 625,000 (741,000 euros). Trump’s lawsuit against the author of a controversial secret dossier about his relationships with Russia, announced on Thursday by the court in London. This had already been rejected by a British court last year.
Trump’s lawsuit remains without success
Trump had filed a lawsuit against the London consulting firm Orbis Business Intelligence by the British ex-secret agent Christopher Steele. The former head of the Russia department of the British Home Service MI6 had created a dossier before the 2016 presidential election, which contained compromising information about the right-wing populist and its alleged connections to Russia. Trump demanded compensation from the company for serious calls to call.
Last February, a court in London rejected the lawsuit on the grounds that there were no “convincing reasons” for a legal proceedings. Trump’s lawsuit on compensation payments has no prospect of success. He had been passing for many years since the dossier was published in 2017 without trying to “defend his reputation from British courts,” said the judge in February.
