Donald Trump criticized her portrait: artist is worried about career

As an artist, Sarah Boardman should be used to a break. But the criticism of her portrait of US President Donald Trump was particularly harsh-and she came from the portrait herself. It was “really the worst” picture of him, Trump was upset about the painting, which was hung in the Capitol of the US State of Colorado.

The picture was taken during Trump’s first term and has been in Denver since 2019. It was not much a stir that the feedback was positive – until a few weeks ago the president duke on his platform social truth. Since then everything has “turned to the bad,” complains Boardman.

According to the president’s statements, the artist is worried about her career. Trump’s allegations “have a direct and negative impact on my business, in which I have been working for over 41 and that is now in the risk of no longer recovering,” explains Boardman.

“Nobody likes a bad picture or painting of themselves,” Trump complained about the painting. “But that in Colorado, which the governor hung together with portraits of all other presidents, was deliberately distorted as I may have never seen before.”

The picture that Sarah Boardman painted by Barack Obama, on the other hand, looks “wonderful”. “She must have lost her talent when she got older,” said the President about the artist. “I would like to have no painting than this.” Trump called on the governor Jared Polis from the Democratic Party to let the portrait hang out. A little later the picture was removed.
