Leading Union politicians see growing pressure to unite

According to leading Union politicians, turbulence in the global economy and on the stock exchanges exacerbate the pressure to reach the coalition negotiations in Berlin. “This actually shows how urgently we need a government capable of acting in Germany and how urgently we need reforms for competitiveness,” said CDU Presidium member Jens Spahn in Berlin.
Lower energy costs, less bureaucracy and lower taxes are necessary – “so that we can also hold up,” said Spahn. “Ideally, we will soon need that.” Under this impression, you now go into the conversations. “Of course it is clear that we cannot make false compromises.” In the current situation of the German economy and the global economy, everything is now needed.
CSU boss Markus Söder said similarly. The big goal is now to strengthen the competitiveness of the German economy, he said before the start of the new round of negotiations with the SPD. “Today and in the next few days, we also have to progress in view of the internationality. But we are all aware of this responsibility. We will get good results.”
Saxony’s Prime Minister Michael Kretschmer (CDU) emphasized: “It is important that responsibility is now being taken over. The games have to stop.” The times are very, very serious. “What is now happening is demanding for civic responsibility.” People would have a clear awareness of whether it was really about the matter as in the beginning in the specials or “whether this party -political small small broke again”. Germany is in a serious situation, said Kretschmer. “Now everyone has to jump.”
CSU state group leader Alexander Dobrindt said that one thing was very clear: “We need stable conditions in Germany. This is not only for Germany, which is important for all of Europe.” A government must therefore be formed very quickly “which can then act as a stabilizing factor in the world”. Last Saturday there was “a high dynamic” in the negotiations. “This does not mean that everything has been solved by far, but the difficult points are still on the agenda today.”
