Union and SPD are planning purchasing incentives for e-cars
After the state funding stopped at the end of 2023, the sales of electric vehicles collapsed. Can new instruments get going?
The Union and SPD want to boost the demand for electric cars more. “We will promote e-mobility with purchasing incentives,” says the CDU, CSU and SPD coalition agreement. More detailed information on the height and possible conditions have not been laid down.
In addition, further measures are to be taken, among other things for tax discounts for e-vehicles as company cars. E-cars should be freed from the vehicle tax by 2035. A program for households with small and medium -sized incomes should come to support the switch to climate -friendly mobility.
After the abrupt stop of the state funding at the end of 2023, the sales of electric cars had broken in. The then traffic light coalition of SPD, Greens and FDP had justified the end of the so-called environmental bonus with savings constraints according to a budget judgment of the Federal Constitutional Court.
