Frei announces deportation fees to Syria and Afghanistan

In August there was again a deportation flight to Afghanistan in August. It has been the only one so far because there are many problems in practice. Now the Union makes a promise.

According to the Union Group Managing Director Thorsten, the future federal government wants to organize freely regular deportation fees to Afghanistan and Syria. “The Germans can rely on that,” said the CDU politician of the “Bild” newspaper. The first flight in late summer 2024 showed that it works. “That is why we are convinced that we can do this in the future, permanently and in much larger areas.”

At the end of August last year, Katar had been deported to Afghanistan for the first time in three years in three years. Since then there has been no further deportation to the country, which has been reigned by the Islamist Taliban since August 2021. The traffic light government had also announced that it would seek further deportations. However, this is difficult in implementation, since this requires cooperation with the Taliban, directly or indirectly via neighboring countries.

Frei pointed out that of the 240,000 people who are subject to an out -of -date departure in Germany, almost 200,000 would be tolerated. “You have to leave the country in any case, actually voluntarily. Because there was an asylum procedure, there was also an administrative court procedure in case of doubt. That must also have consequences.”

At the same time, he confirmed that there should be rejections at the German borders and exit centers. “We will also speak differently to the countries of origin. It will have consequences if you do not meet international law.”
