Kremlin: China is not drawn into war

The Ukrainian President Selenskyj criticizes that Chinese fought on the Russian side. The Kremlin in Moscow reacts to allegations that China can be dragged into war.

Moscow has rejected accusations from Kiev to a complicit in the Russian attack war against Ukraine. “This is not the case. China takes on a balanced position, China is our strategic partner, friend, comrade, and China always took a very, very balanced position,” said Kremlin spokesman Dmitri Peskow Russian news agencies. Previously, the Ukrainian President Wolodymyr Selenskyj complained about Chinese fighters in the war.

“Selenskyj is not right,” said Peskow. China itself repeatedly points to a neutral position in the conflict. At the same time, the country is internationally criticized to support Russia in its war against Ukraine with also supported goods for the armaments industry – for example in the construction of drones.

According to Peskow’s statements, Selenskyj confirmed his allegations again. “It is crystal clear that these are not isolated cases, but systematic Russian efforts to recruit (Chinese) citizens for war,” he wrote in social networks. The recruitment takes place partly in the state of China. Russia had to be taken the opportunity to pull the war into the length and expand, he added without reading Beijing directly. At the same time, he again published the video fragment of the survey of a Chinese prisoner, who expressed the desire to return home.

Selenskyj had initially reported the capture of two Chinese fighting on the Russian side in Ukraine and then stated that it was not individual cases. He indicated their number at 155. He pointed out that the Chinese fighting on the Russian side contradicted the official position of Beijings. China always warned of an escalation of the war.

China had rejected the allegation that own citizens were involved in the Russian invasion in Ukraine. These are baseless claims. The Chinese government has always asked its citizens to stay away from areas with military conflicts.

Russia is criticized to have already used North Korean soldiers. Ukraine, in turn, actively advertises foreigners for their army.
