The attacks by Aschaffenburg, Munich and elsewhere have shaken the feeling of security of many people. In fact, the situation is tense as has not been long, the Bavarian Interior Minister warns.
After several attacks, attacks and attempts to stop in Germany in recent months, the security authorities have estimated the risk situation as high as they have not in a long time. “The internal security and thus our peaceful coexistence in our country are put to the test in a previously unknown extent,” said Bavaria’s Interior Minister Joachim Herrmann (CSU) when the country’s new constitutional protection report was presented.
The risk situation – and from all extremism areas – has once again tangled noticeably. Herrmann recalled, among other things, the car attack of Munich, the knife attacks of Aschaffenburg, Mannheim and Solingen, but also the car attack on the Magdeburg Christmas market.
In addition: Especially through social media, extremists of all stripes are trying to take young people more and more. “The embassies of the extremists from all areas are increasingly caught in younger people, often even minors,” warned Herrmann. The social media are linchpin here: “Extremist actors use them to spread their ideologies and narratives.” This acts like a fire accelerator in the spread of democracy and hatred of the state or in the self -blurry of potential violence.
