Blood smeared and with a raised fist: The scene of the attack on Donald Trump now hangs in a prominent place in the White House. An Obama portrait had to make room for this.
The Donald Trump portrait obsession is known. Just recently, the US President has publicly refused in the Capitol of the State of Colorado about a painting of himself. In his eyes, the artist Sarah Boardman had depicted Trump so disadvantageously that he let the picture depend.
Now Trump in the White House in Washington had a painting hanging up that is more to his taste. It shows the iconic scene after the attack in the election campaign last summer: Trump with a grim facial expression, sprayed blood, and the fist raised to fight.

Donald Trump claims the most prominent place
The shot Trump greets visitors to the White House from the wall of the big foyer. The White House published a photo of the “new artwork” on its official X account on Friday. Government employees confirmed CNN the authenticity of the picture. The painting is on one of the most prominent places in the East Wing of the White House, writes CNN.
Ex-President Barack Obama had to make room. Its official portrait hung in the place beforehand. It was now removed and hung on another wall in the foyer. In turn, a portrait of Obama’s predecessor George W. Bush had to give way to hang closer to his father, the former President George Bush Senior.
In the foyer of the White House, the portraits of former presidents traditionally hang in a prominent place. Trump had already caused a stir in his first term by having pictures of Bill Clinton and George W. Bush replaced by the William McKinley and Theodore Roosevelt he favored.
White house defends decision
The fact that an incumbent president hangs himself to the most beautiful place shortly after taking office does not quite correspond to the customs. It is not known that a president has ever hung his own portrait into the White House, the New York Times writes. The Obama portrait, which was now hanged, was only officially unveiled in 2022. There is no official portrait of Joe Biden yet.
Trump’s spokeswoman Karoline Leavitt defended the decision. The president has the right to change things in his home, like other presidents in front of him, she said according to “New York Times”. “President Trump has decided to temporarily exhibit this painting, which is a crucial moment in the story in which he almost lost his life.”
